The Problem
Traffic can be stressful, aggravating, and a waste of time for many commuters. It’s difficult for individuals with extensive commute times to also maintain a healthy sleep schedule. Users who have a grueling daily commute often struggle with punctuality and finding a healthy work/life balance.
Research
Out of 22 individuals surveyed 100% commuted on a daily basis and 88% valued avoiding traffic as much as possible.
70% only get 5-6 hours of sleep a night and 94% wished they got 7 hours.
User Insight
IDENTIFYING USER NEEDS
From the data collected via Google survey and user interviews it was important for our users to not only be on time to work but also to avoid traffic as much as possible. Many users also struggled with getting up in the morning and staying up once their alarms went off. Hitting the snooze button repetitively to get those extra minutes of sleep was a common trend amongst tested users. Traffic was described by users as frustrating, aggravating, and a complete waste of time. The lasting affects of traffic included everything from poor work/life balance, lack of satisfying sleep and less time to spend doing what they wanted.

Competitor Analysis
The most direct competitors of Snooze It were the everyday alarm clock, Google Maps, iCalendar, and Alarmy. All of these applications help in assisting users to get where they need to go and keep consumers informed along the way.
The findings showed that notifications, reminders, and alarms weren’t always enough to ensure punctuality from its users. The successful elements of these apps relied heavily on keeping users informed, updated, and personalized. The systems and processes especially found in AlarmMe were extremely insightful and useful for our research in trying to make Snooze It as intuitive and personalized as possible.
The Solution
Snooze It is an alarm that works backwards from the time you need to arrive at your destination rather than when you think you need to wake up. This alarm works hand in hand with your preferred navigation system to wake you up on time. Snooze It gives users the optimal amount of sleep while eliminating the worry of being late. Snooze It works with traffics so our users don’t have to fight against it.
Real-time traffic updates
Push notifications that allow for real-time updates both before and during navigation. Updated arrival times, potential road blocks along the way, and detours that can be taken to avoid hazards on the road.
Custom Alarm Settings
Personalizing the wake up routine to fit specific user needs. This personalization would take part in the on-boarding process where a quiz can be taken to determining the most ideal alarm settings for individual users.
Wake Up and Stay Up
Introducing Tasks! Tasks range from easy to hard and can be anything from a simple math problem to a complicated puzzle. The task will have the be completed in order for the alarm to shut off. This motivates users to wake up and stay up!
Multi-scheduling feature
This feature will work similar to your calendar by scheduling multiple appointments and then alerting users when the optimal time for departure is in order to make the appointments on time.
